Running man Mridul vows to keep on going

August 1, 2025

A student living in Goole who has run every day for almost six years is hoping to set a Guiness World Record.

Despite not enjoying running, Mridul Manoj, a long-distance streak runner, has pushed himself to run at least 3km every day since 2019 as part of a personal challenge to embrace discomfort and test his mental resilience. He has now logged more than 2,060 consecutive days running. Mridul began running in the UK, and continued through the pandemic in Dubai, where his is from, before retuning to the UK in 2022. He's now documenting the entire journey on his Instagram page @mridulrunseveryday, where he is uploading daily proof and working through a video backlog of his runs. Mridul hopes to use his story to build a community, inspire others, and eventually apply for a Guinness World Record — either for consecutive daily runs or for a unique form of long-term documentation.

Mridul said: “On November 20, 2019, I went for a run. I did it again the next day… and I’ve never stopped since. For over 2,060 consecutive days, I’ve run a minimum of 3 kilometers every single day, across two continents, through lockdowns, exams, and even desert heat. I’ve tracked every single run on Samsung Health. “The streak started while I was a student at Loughborough University. One day, I came across a YouTube video by US streak runner Hellah Sidibe titled “I ran every day for 365 days.” That moment sparked a personal challenge for me. I was afraid of running, and I wanted to face it. “What began as fear became a practice. I now run every day as an act of willingly seeking discomfort, because I believe growth lies on the other side of comfort.” When COVID hit, Mridul flew back home to Dubai, where he continued running daily. In 2022, he returned to the UK, still running. He moved to Goole from Loughborough on May 1, 2024, and he’s been running here every single day since.
